The world should ban (or rather, disallow) proprietary software instead of trying to regulate it.

Proprietary software is like eating blindfolded in a restaurant: you like it but you don't know what it is.
As long as we allow proprietary software to exist, it'll prevent competition from entering the market thus creating technological monopolies and oligopolies.
