i can't fucking understand coding, too complicated for me, i don't understand how tf ppl can get into it... it's too fucking complicated for me to understand. yeah i'm in a computer science class or whatever, but only because that's what replaced my AV class, i never chose this shit, idfk how pretty much EVERYONE ON FEDI knows how to code in some way, i fucking can't, i'm the dumbest one here because of it...

@mario idfk, this teacher doesn't clearly explain it, and i'm not gonna bother trying to learn it, i don't see an easy way to explain it

it's tough if the teacher is bad and doesn't give you hands-on examples early on.
If you ever want to try programming again, I can really recommend trying to do simple stuff in python (i.e. implementing an algorithm which prints out digits of π), maybe with a tutorial which walks you through the steps.

@mario either way, they seem blended a bit to me. still, i never asked for this, i just want to go back to AV, but unfortunately, the only teacher certified for that moved out, now i'm stuck with this... we still haven't found a replacement for him

It's true that some people are better at it than others - either due to interest, or abstract thinking, or whatever. But anyone can learn to do it to some degree.
Yes, you'll make dumb mistakes along the way. I've been doing it professionally for 20 years and I still do dumb shit from time to time. No biggie. It's a learning experience, just like the rest of life.
I get the frustration though. If you have a bad teacher or you're just not into it (nothing wrong with that), then it can be tough.
@furry i only do this class because it was supposed to be AV, but then that teacher left and i can't change it until this year's over, so if we don't find a new AV teacher by then, imma switch the class to something more in my interest, but if we do, i'll stay to do AV again. it's only frustrating for me because, like i said, i can't myself interested in computing and stuff

As soon as you realize there's only four or so paradigms (logical, procedural, functional and object-oriented programming) and four types of looping (while, for, recursion, goto) it gets really simple.
the only thing left to learn about coding are certain language specific quirks like syntax or predefined calls
