Is there a reason why Join Calculus is very little used for managing concurrency?

There's a lack of documentation out there compared to alternatives

One of the few places that had anything on the topic (C2 Wiki) said that, compared to actors, it manages errors worse. That could be a reason. But there are also advantages compared to actors
