Wow I have a sub-millisecond latency to 1.1.1.1 from home, but not to 1.0.0.1

@angristan I was about to say, that latency was too low for it to be in your ISP's network

@staticsafe @angristan

actually that's real. CloudFlare has very good interconnects, I see the same thing here in Vienna for both those ips (sub ms response times with real results)

@szbalint @angristan impressive, the closest I get from home is Google Public DNS or my ISP's resolver

--- 8.8.8.8 ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 5 received, 0% packet loss, time 4008ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 1.595/1.708/2.025/0.162 ms

--- 207.164.234.193 ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 5 received, 0% packet loss, time 4006ms
rtt min/avg/max/mdev = 1.370/1.666/1.974/0.221 ms

Cloudflare is 11-15ms away

@angristan Looking at the TTL for 1.1.1.1, those packets are not even reaching past your router.
My guess is that your router has some sort of internal misconfiguration or manual route to 1.1.1.1 going nowhere. 1.1.1.1 is sometimes used as some sort of placeholder, which may disrupt traffic that should go to that IP.
