@angristan oh, grabbing it from the client making a request ? Caddy seems to already forward standards ones
@Miaourt the point of realip is to replace the client IP by the one in the X-Forwarded-For (or similar) header when you're behind a reverse proxy.This is useful for logging, because the common log format does not log headers, or to forward real IPs to the backend.
I use JSON logs with full request context on caddy v2 so I don't miss anything there, but for example Mastodon only sees Cloudflare IPs since I moved to v2
