I just blasted my way through the entire Q3 Arena single-player campaign just for the heck of it. Two, three hours at most, if you know what you're doing. I was too young and too much in Bulgaria to own the licensed physicals copies. But nowadays, I often look at my collection of the Quake series on Steam with the same fondness. QuakeC was a blast to learn and use to change the mechanics of the game-play into something out of Quake's world.

I play Quake Champions every day. It's getting better. Definitely has the same vibe of high velocity action like some of the other titles in the series. I hope what's left of id Software find some way to bring it even farther.
