I'm flying to Europe with a layover in São Miguel, a pretty island in the Atlantic Ocean 
The island was discovered by Portugal in the 15th century. Ponta Delgada is the largest city, and features a variety of churches and historic buildings.
Why is this a thing? A tree wrapped in knit things... I don't even know what they're called, but they're cool 
I went on a short hike to Miradouro da Boca do Inferno. Hopefully today it won't be wrapped in a thick mist, as the tourist guides warned.

It's a lucky day without a lot of fog hiding this stunning view.
Today is kinda rainy, so I went to Furnas to check the famous thermal baths 
My first stop is Parque Terra Nostra. This huge pool is deep enough for swimming.
The iron-enriched water doesn't smell bad or irritate the eyes, but it sure stains skin, swimsuits and towels! Good thing I came prepared, with dark clothes.
