@dewert Hello! @staticsafe and @JordiGH are Canadians.
Erm, not legally Canadian yet, and I'm still learning about things like Easter, but I'm getting there.
@JordiGH @superruserr Easter is simple. If you're Christian you go to church and observe what's arguably the most important religious holiday of the year. If not, you still might get a long weekend, depending on your job. Either way you eat waxy chocolate.
But I think you probably knew that.
@dewert @superruserr Huh, bigger than Jesus? Easter is The Beatles?
@JordiGH @superruserr last time I checked, "Jesus" was not an official religious holiday
The Beatles might be, though
@dewert @superruserr I guess Jesus's death is a bigger deal than his birth. I really didn't know!
@JordiGH @superruserr the way I see it, Christians believe that Jesus came to earth to die and thus save them, so presumably that's the core of the religion. I was definitely of that opinion back when I was Christian.
I'm finding it pretty funny that I'm discussing theology, albeit superficially. Definitely not qualified.
@dewert @superruserr Anyways, the Easter I'm seeing around me has absolutely no Jesus in it... unless there's more theology to bunnies, chocolates, and eggs, than I know about.
@dewert just because spaces are preferred by PEP-8 doesn't make them better!
@fullywoolly are you trying to start a war? Because... really I only have a mild preference and I'm not that bothered either way. As long as it's consistent within one project *shudder*
What really convinced me is that Stack Overflow says spaces pay better hahaha
@dewert haha nah I actually don't have a preference. I tend to use tabs in python only because it is one keystroke and consistent vs multiple and me missing a space here and there. IDEs like pycharm help a lot and then I don't care. I actually like the style recommendations in pycharm because it basically enforces the PEP-8 suggestions. All my scripts are quick work, but if it ever became bigger, then I'd be following the standard.
@dewert Welcome! I'm also in #Vancouver, run a lot, very into music and #Cdnpoli, and am vegetarian. #Python is an interest as well -- I'm a beginner though. See you around! :)
@dewert welcome back!
