Ever since the Steam Deck announcement I keep hearing / reading online something along the lines of "Valve immediately abandons all their hardware" like they're Google or something.

I'm not seeing where that's coming from to be honest.


They made the Steam Controller for 4 years and there was some patent lawsuit stuff that may have in part caused it to go away. The lineage is clearly visible on the Steam Deck's controls.

They made the Steam Link for 3 years and then released software to convert a raspberry pi to a steam link, which would be cheaper than buying a Steam Link
