The day have finally come! I have to say that I was sceptical on how much effort (budget) Netflix had put on this series and with the choose of Henry Cavill to play Gerald. Now, that I just finish seen the second episode, I'm more than glad to say that they absolute nailed it! Especially Henry. He's doing an astonishing job! It seems he really was already a big fan of The Witcher imaginary.

Just a normal day for Facebook!

"Facebook faces another huge data leak affecting 267 million users"

“The technology behind the internet is not incompatible with our rights, but the business model Facebook and Google have chosen is.”

Yep, that’s Amnesty International saying that.

This thread is a great example of just how bad tech has gotten.

A friend of mine has been trying to hire a new employee for her department in a medium-sized org. After advertising several times with few applicants, and a couple of rounds of interviews, the new employee is less than great. Then she discovered there were other applicants ...

You can now watch my talk on the future of Internet regulation at the European Parliament yesterday on Peertube (@joinpeertube) thanks to @vincib

And here are my slides (which were on the screens but aren’t visible in the video):

There are people who will tell you that the way things are is the way things have always been and will always be.

Don’t listen to these people.

The way things are is just raw material for the way things can be. And by your every action or inaction you help determine what that is.

"Do you have something to hide?" is a manipulative rebuke to those that use #encryption.

It would help us all turn this conversation around. Because, the answer is: YES, we do have something to hide.

Things that we should hide, and must question why a government or business NEEDS access to:

- Medical history.
- Sensitive conversations with employers, children, spouses.
- Billing and banking information.
- Purchase information.
- Web search history.
And more...

It's commonly accepted that books tell stories in a richer way than their adaptations to cinema or television. I agree, but... books don't have soundtracks!

The Game of Thrones had a lot of examples on how a good soundtrack can make a scene epic.

This one is from the second episode of the last season, just before the long night.

Two #Twitter employees have been charged with spying for #SaudiArabia, they are accused of exploiting their access to Twitter’s systems:

That's why we need zero-knowledge applications with built-in encryption. Employees must not read your data. #Tutanota #Mastodon

Apple presenting itself as a privacy warrior!

The page is beautifully made, the promisses are powerfull, but how much is really truth? What kind of encryption they use? Who audit their products/efforts?

It sounds no more than a PR campaign to deceive users and make them believe they're "safe".

‘Untold human suffering’: 11,000 scientists from across world unite to declare global climate emergency. ‘Despite 40 years of major global negotiations, we conduct business as usual and have failed to address this crisis,’ group says.

This is year, Santa will start given presents some days earlier, starting on December 20th! This promisses being beyond great 😁 ⚔️

“We need lawmakers and regulators to help protect our children, our cognitive capabilities, our public square and our democracy by creating guardrails and rules to deal directly with the incentives and business models of these platforms and the societal harms they are causing.”

A vulnerability in WhatsApp was abused to install surveillance malware on phones of journalists and human rights activists. To make sure that potential vulnerabilities are found quickly, the code must be open source. That's why all Tutanota clients - web, apps, desktop clients - are published under GPLv3.
