So my mother thinks the new porn ban law in the UK is a positive thing.
She's anarchocommunist, and strongly feminist. (And a TERF, too, lol).
Anyway, her reasoning behind supporting the law is due to the fact that "kids on the Internet see awful things in porn like men cumming on women's faces, or (often consensual) struggle fucking, or ruthless fellatios in which the male grabs the head of the female, and then they want to recreate that with their girlfriends".
Like what the FUCK.
First of all, there are females (and males) who enjoy being submissive and receiving cumshots in their faces. As long as it is consensual, WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THAT?!
Second. What kind of asshole does this things in a non-consensual way? It is very fucking simple. It is not about porn, it is about people being overly dominant and forcing others into certain sex positions.
Third... There's been studies that prove a decrease in rapes correlated with easier access to porn.
About those studies on more porn and less rapes:
Like WOW, WHO THE FUCK would have imagined that being able to jerk off in the comfort of your own fucking home would mean that you are relieved and therefore not need to force others for your own satisfaction, right?
Fuck this shit. I'm tired of bans, and laws that try to short circuit human psychology.
There will always be a way to bypass porn bans. Internet-savvy, 14 year olds with their hormones in full bloom will definitely find a way around this stupid fucking law. VPNs, Tor, whatever.
And actually, blocking porn access for them, I'm pretty sure, will just lead to dangerous sexual practices like disregarding condoms, and we go back 200 years of history.
This also applies to stuff like murder, for example. Making murder illegal doesn't mean it will disappear overnight (of course I agree that murder should be illegal but for a very different reason: Non-aggression principle. In porn, you're not exercising aggression upon anyone).
Drugs, as well. Drugs are illegal in most countries (except maybe marijuana), but there's still a black market for them.
And they think banning porn will work, unlike those other laws? Get outta here.
@espectalll well, @one raised multiple points and i thought it was relevant to discuss them? Especially that perhaps the idea behind porn ban is to protect harmful effects that porn has on children, adults and society. I wanted to debate these effects, not the particular law (which I actually know nothing about).
I wanted to respond with the fact that porn is extremely sexist (goes back to cuming on women's faces) and it's there's a lot of complexity there.
Also, rereading the original thread I have a slight feeling I chimed in with a slightly different point.
Your original point was anger against policing human behaviour, and to quite an extent I agree with you here. And it's surprising that someone who you describe as of anarchist (therefore anti-authoritarian bent) is in favour of laws.
So apologies for perhaps adding irrelevant points to original rant.
@luka @one oh, so yeah, it's a matter on how it influences people, which is indeed relevant to the thread... yeah, education is always positive, and certainly being educated by porn + whatever you think from it is not the best idea - it's indeed a lot like TV or whatever social trend is ongoing. Which doesn't mean either than you can't/shouldn't want to get cum on your throat or viceversa
@setunai @espectalll @luka I am a cis (not exactly cis, but not trans or queer or anything, it's complicated, really) pansexual male, and I will admit that I enjoy both cumming on other people's faces, as well as receiving. I enjoy humilliating women (and men), and letting them humilliate me.
I mean, I shouldn't even be ashamed of admitting it, but apparently people feel entitled to comment on how you enjoy your free time. It is stupid.
@setunai @espectalll @luka Actually, I shouldn't even justify that I enjoy receiving humilliation as well. I should be able to say that I enjoy humilliating others. Even if I was hetero and enjoyed humilliating women. But somehow I feel that if I ignore those details I'll quickly be labelled misogynistic, and be a perfect representation of toxic masculinity.
We live in a society.
So yes, if you want, I can make it explicit. In everything I describe and say, there has to be a two-way consent first.
Even I may not like the idea of a very specific person cumming on my face. So yes, consent.
(this might be a bit weird comment, please excuse me, I hope my message comes accross), but african-americans are entitled to call themselves with N-word, but we, whites cannot - and it's because of historical and socio-political reasons which one cannot ignore. It's the same with patriarchy and eons of actual misogyny and often violent discrimination and domination. that's why you >have to< add that.
One of the most basic principles that literally dictate every single action, or decision I take, or word I say boils down to not doing upon others what I wouldn't want others to do to me.
So I don't rape, because I don't want to be raped. I don't cum on other people's bodies without asking first (unless we have developed an obvious bond, but that's beyond the point). And so on.
I think at the core of issue of pornography (mainly video content) vs actual real life situations is (for me at least) the question of personal boundaries and respect of them. Regardless of your fetish (and this area is wide and wild), what matters is comunication and awarenes of boundaries (right to them, ability to set them, respect of). It's what's lacking in most of pornographic content but is crucial part to any sexual practice.
@wowaname ...you're still not getting it, it's not about that specifically
@wowaname can you please be rational, read properly, and wait for anyone else to explain their points, please?
@wowaname I am, please give me time
@wowaname but you're replying three messages at once, throwing insults and not even waiting!
@wowaname if you're feeling attacked I'm sorry I guess, but it's about what people think is OK to do or not, whenever people feel people are legitimized to feel superior to others and treat others against their will and in humiliating/harmful ways
