Branching Oyster Mushroom - Pleurotus cornucopiae

This white is very closely related to the Oyster Mushroom (Pleurotus ostreatus) which is cultivated & sold commercially. Apparently, as well as looking like the bivalve, they both taste like it.

The botanical name partly comes from the Latin word "pleuro" which means to the side, in reference to the position of the stem to the cap.
