I've seen this film as a child, but I can't really remember anything about it.
Hollywood really seemed to like these mistaken identity films in the 30s, 40s & 50s, though most were swashbucklers like The Prisoner of Zenda ('37 & '52).
This film would be worth watching just to see the likes of Walter Slezak, Alan Hale & Elsa Lanchester.
