I see the HMS Queen Elizabeth F35 test flights are going well.

One thing really bothered me about the film. There were a series of jokes involving a dog. After each one the woman owner would repeatedly hit the Yorkshire terrier. I can't believe this would have been funny even for a 1950s audience.

This week's was:
Love in the Afternoon (1957)

A romcom starring Gary Cooper & Audrey Hepburn, directed by Billy Wilder.

As they might say in Paris: comme ci, comme ça.

Huh!
Only an hour ago I said:
"With people like Williamson in charge, the UK is the rogue state."

60 mins later...

Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson is reportedly to say in a speech later today:

"Brexit has brought us to a great moment in our history. A moment when we must strengthen our global presence, enhance our lethality and increase our mass."

"Enhance our lethality"?

The UK is the rogue state.

Sunday night whisky is back on (as if it was seriously in doubt). Typos are due to cruft under keys on left side of keyboard. Phew!

Maybe I need to re-evalute whisky on Sunday nights, I'm making lots of typos this morning. 😃

I'll have another coffee, that'll fix things. ☕

Update:
Not as strong as I feared. The coriander flavour has subsided a little, overnight. I like the flavour of coriander, but it can over-power the mustard. Next time I will use 1/2 tsp of coriander seed for one jar of mustard.

Strangely turmeric doesn't have the same effect.

What a combo:
Laphroaig & Blue Planet II

It was great seeing sperm whales, spinner dolphins, lantern fish and a whale shark, while enjoying a dram. It doesn't get any better.

This from Tory grandee Ken Clarke is quite funny:

"I’ve just turned up to a brewery tour organised by Chris Grayling. Unfortunately there isn’t any beer so he’s had to cancel it."

I tried something new, prepared mustard with coriander seed.

I may have overdone the coriander.

Oh well, I'll be enjoying it for the next three weeks, at least.

Sorry folks...

I've just noticed that the previous post containing the embedded Tweet, shows the video preview image which is hidden on Twitter.

Oops.

If you've got any economics related puns for this story let's be hearing them.

Ever since the fiasco started there have been some crazy things happening in British .

This is the craziest.

Dr Victoria Bateman is the Naked Economist. That is not a figure of speech. She is giving lectures entitled "Brexit Leaves Britain Naked", in the nude. She also gave a nude interview on BBC Radio 4 (yeah, yeah, I know).

No, I'm not providing any pics. For more info you can visit her Birdsite:

An interesting spotting. At a quick glance, you might think it's just a piece of bird dung. But it's actually a spider: a Lesser Bird-dropping Spider (Cyrtarachne bufo).

Spotted on Coney Island, Singapore, on 9 Feb 2019.

The UK government Department of Transport have terminted their contract with Seaborne Ferries, after Arklow Shipping withdrew support from the "ferry" company.

So, the ferry company with no ferries and no port also has no contract. Seems fair.

BTW
This is the same film which had the scene with the funky 2+2 compact car, which I posted about last week.

The person in the front-left is the hugely talented Jean Arthur, the star of the film.

Today is a day of double meanings. I came across the original theatrical posters for the film The More the Merrier (1943).

One of the taglines is: "Home is where you hang your guests."

Charming! 😃
