It turns out that Roxy has some serious arthritis in her knees, but considering that the vet couldn't believe she's as old as 11, we've been doing something right. She's otherwise very healthy, and other than the fact that she has to lose a few pounds, I'm supposed to continue whatever it is that I've been doing.
Plus, the ladies at the vet love her because she basically looks like the tallest corgi that ever lived.
I can't stress this enough: Adopt older dogs.
The shelter thought that she was around 8 and said "give this sweet girl her retirement home!" Considering that we were first-time dog owners, we thought that a chill dog was what we needed.
She runs circles around us, even after three years. She's never had an accident in the house. She loves kids. She never leaves our sides.
And two weeks after we brought her home, she alerted me that I was going to have a seizure. She still does this.
@fidgety roxie is a good girl and I wish her and you continued health
