If you're hanging around waiting around a retail strip, use #OpenStreetMaps! Instead of killing time, use the OSMAnd app on #Android to edit the map and add shops, opening times, add descriptions, tag addresses, add websites, add wheelchair accessibility tags... An hour of wandering around during inevitable Christmas layby time can add lots of #opensource map data!

data pol, random thoughts on
'my data is valuable so I should get paid for it' misses where the value lies. Your data is worthless.
The personally identified aggregate of you and 3 million other users in a target demographic, is invaluable. As soon as you get to choose whether your data is part of that aggregate, its statistical randomness is tainted and its value decreases. Consent directly diminishes the value (considered as a statistical measure of obtained predictive power) of an aggregate, and thus of every person in it's data.
And that's even if a large aggregate can still be formed... But your data, personally, as one individual, outside a statistical cohort context? It's completely worthless. Just like it looked to every single person who ever wondered why they would be targeted or why they should care. So no, you won't be getting paid.
