Somewhat confused with trying to have a @nextcloud conversation between two Nextcloud instances. I could only connect between two devices by opening a public conversation and joining through a link - coming through as "Guest".

I find it remarkable how many empty (and mostly identical Unity-based) FPS games are available on the Google Play Store. I would think it was hopeless, but: Max Payne was excellent, and FZ9 Timeshift was creative. There is absolutely no argument for not making a solid storyline, like with Doom 3 or the Thief games. The games are going to be heavy, but really, my phone has more processing power than my laptop.

due to the human race advancing in many ways, the four horsemen of the apocalypse are now not capable of ending humanity. They are replaced by four new horsemen who reflect the modern age.

Hot take: The social function of the word "brainwashed" is not to identify actual brainwashing, but rather, to identify opposition to normative truisms

Even turns of phrase that imply you are accusing someone of being "brainwashed", without saying it outright, also seem to serve this function

I don't think that most people who are doing this even experience it as something they're doing...

Maybe it's a way to force adherence to normative truisms without admitting to yourself that you're forcing adherence to normative truisms

Maybe I should be worried about big data, but Amazon seems to spend a lot of time trying to sell me books they already sold me.

Had a page hang in Firefox. I closed it. Closing Gnome, it says I have an app that is hanging.
I know, kill it.
Then Systemd tells me that it has a stop job that is unfinished - now I can wait.
Remember when we said that we loved how the system does not hang because we can kill the processes directly? Yeah.
Okay, so I am getting old. :wq!

There's a trillion dollars business on mass surveillance: this is the one to blame, not yourself, not your relations, but the militaro-industrial complex that creates both Frontex and Smart Cities. These are the same people.
