Should I give my flavour of #markdown its own extension or leave it as `.md`?
@jd rationale?
@orbifx I am not sure what you are doing, to be honest - but I will say that the world needs less extensions, not more. so do that, if you can.
@jd I like that, yes!
@jd I'm writing yet another blogging platform, with yet another twist.
@orbifx I look forward to seeing this.

Will make some packages or containers soon. About to push a new version.
@orbifx ahhhh! this is cool.
re: 'personal note taking, journaling and publication system, a hybrid between a "Blog" and a "Wiki".'
This is what I want. something like Evernote and google's Keep - but free and opensource, private and open, & collaborate how I wish. Plus, I want save everything on my Google drive.
ps, I also wish I could save everything I post on #Mastodon on my Goo Drive automagically
@jd why save everything on Google drive if you want privacy?! 😕
@orbifx Privacy from who is the question. (I do not look for too much privacy on social media) Still better than Condoleezza Rice's Dropbox
@jd there has to be something better.
@jd @orbifx syncthing! It's free, it's Foss, it's secure.
You need at least two devices online at once to use it, but that's not really an issue (you don't often turn your phone off to use your PC).
It also runs on raspberry pi so you can basically use a micro computer with a big hard drive as private cloud storage.
@manicphase @orbifx thx, will look into this
@orbifx .md is preferable unless you're really going to deviate from the default syntax for some reason. Wouldn't really be markdown then. 😂
@Moridin the syntax is the same, but it provides some extensions. Most important one is meta-data.
@orbifx What would be the alternative?
@orbifx Hrm. Would be a nice personalized touch and you won't run into file-conflicts (http://filext.com/file-extension/LMD ... who uses ABBY Finereader? :D) On the other hand users could get confused when they want to import/port their notes or use them with third-party editors.
@robert yeah, don't care about Finereader.
I do want the users to figure out they are markdown files, but also get the hint that other parsers might fail on the extensions.
@orbifx Than you should definitely go with lmd .. or omd ;D (like in orbifix's markdown ;))
@robert Lol, maybe. The parser I'm using now is called omd, so that could be a bit confusing.
@orbifx :D You should rename it to namp (not a markdown parser :D)😂
@orbifx stay with .md
