.@Blender's videos on #YouTube have now come back, but they are also being told by Google/YT that they HAVE to monetise them. #Blender are considering refusing, which presumably would mean the videos being taken down again:

Whatever they once stood for, #Google's aim now is exploiting their users' content for maximum profit.
If you don't want your videos to be exploited, it is important to switch to an independent alternative:
@switchingsocial @Blender PeerTube looks really great, but so far watching HD video has been slow on every instance. I also wonder if the issue of exposing IP addresses can possibly be addressed
it’s still in its infancy, but I’d love to start following some content creators if I find any

the biggest concern is that of privacy, so I’m happy to see there’s some discussion going on. it’s such a great idea overall so I’m really excited to see it go forward
