Email has many flaws, but it's the last, strongest part of the non-centralised Internet we have left. We should promote and support it for that reason.

@fossviking @Tusky @maloki @ConnyDuck @charlag Lord, y'all are boring.

Reconsider your position and your life. You're in the wrong. The only person here telling someone they're not free to express themselves is YOU.

@maloki I've checked the reviews, and only been able to find a few complaining about Gab. I guess you've already deleted some?
Anyway, that's not cool. I don't agree with some of your recent actions, and people of course have every right to voice their opinions. But if they've really been spamming reviews, instead of just normally posting one per user, that's immature as hell. Just like it would be if you guys did that to Fedilab.
We shouldn't attack devs like that. Doesn't accomplish anything.

@sng There really is no way to know what will sell and what won't.

Savaged By Systemd is my best selling book.

This whole business is insane.

By habit I still use tor for all medical searches. Once you know the insurance companies buy that data, even no longer living in their reach, well... There's always the future to think about.

This is a great search experience. I queue a search and walk away. A few hours later I queue four page loads that look viable, and wander off. The next day I read those pages and queue another search if needed.

By not moving at the speed of visceral response, I take in the information differently and make different choices in selection and use of it.

It's a little unsettling to look at relatively high-res photographs of people who never existed. :ghost_gif:

stage 3 disillusionment: what we're doing is actively harmful. we're destroying privacy, personal relationships, and possibly democracy itself in the name of automating away people's jobs so a billionaire can have a bigger yacht.

where I'm at now: Today I will fix the next bug on my JIRA queue, an activity which is futile, but not more futile than all other human endeavor

Opportunity rover on Mars has sent it's last image. Sometime afterward it sent a final message:

"It is dark and my battery is low."

After the planetwide sandstorm of 2018, Opportunity was covered in dust and the windy season didn't clear it off. Now it is winter and Opportunity, unable to move to keep warm, will freeze.

Sora: "Hunh, that's funny. We're coming up on a World, but the map says there shouldn't be anything here..."
Goofy: "Well that there ain't no world, fellers."
Donald: "Waak!! It's the Death Star!!!"

I'm just saying, the Death Star should be like Monstro, navigating the void between the worlds.
