I'm extremely pleased to launch Run Your Own Social: How to run a small social network site for you friends.

This is a guide book to running a small, tight-knit federated social network server. It comes from my year of experience running Friend Camp. It's focused largely on SOCIAL solutions, though it does touch on the technical.

I've tried to keep it technology-neutral, and it should be a pretty easy read for anyone who's been on the fediverse for a while.

Is this the shortest definition of functional programming? "Programmers battling against time and change."

I'm sad to see the Sparks you created put out by Nintendo's banhammer. Time to create an open source switch?

Well, to be fair, your remark doesn't seem like a good platform for discussion either. It sounds patronizing.

Dear Ruby devs and game devs. I have a crazy announcement I want to share. Please boost.

Last week I released A Dark Room to the Nintendo Switch. Within the game, I also shipped a Ruby interpreter and a code editor as an Easter Egg.

*This Easter Egg effectively turns every consumer spec-ed Nintendo Switch into a Ruby Machine.*

1. Download A Dark Room from the US/EU.
2. Connect a USB keyboard and press the “~” key.
3. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Oh my goodness I've just learned a thing about The Matrix that causes it to make a lot more sense: In the original script the humans were used as neural network compute clusters by the Machines and as a crucial component of The Matrix itself.

Which is why humans who were aware of the simulation could control aspects of The Matrix - their minds were part of its foundation.

Unfortunately the test audiences had trouble understanding this concept so the studio changed the human role to "batteries".

And so we enter the #fediverse. Support for all instances is coming soon. We're just waiting on more of the Keybase community to update to the latest versions so all of these new proof options will look good in the UI. Thanks for your excitement!

One morning, as Gregor Samsa was waking up from anxious dreams, he discovered that in bed he had been changed into the form of a STREAMING DATA PROCESSING FRAMEWORK

@[email protected] I'm looking for alternatives to popular todo-apps as wunderlist will shut down someday. Would you be interested in adding a section? todo.txt seems to be the most obvious choice, pairing well with nextcloud or syncthing and supporting many platforms.
