@slp Honestly, if you don't find Telegram's unwillingness (over the years, this isn't new) to adopt a sane crypto policy a bit fishy, you weren't paying attention.

Users: "We want multidevice, always-on, end-to-end encryption, like OMEMO."

Telegram: "Here you have Image Search."

Users: "That's nice, but we'd really like to have encryp..."

Telegram: "Hey, we have new stickers!"

Users: "But good crypt..."

Telegram: "Chat Backgrounds."

GNOME 3.32 is due to be released this March, and the theme this cycle is 𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘! Check out some of the upcoming optimizations being made GNOME Shell and Mutter:

The only thing stopping me from making this the default behavior in @flatkvm is that it requires *a bit* of pre-configuration on the Host (configuring PulseAudio to load the module).

After a while trying out different emulated audio devices in QEMU, I concluded I was approaching the problem the wrong way.

Audio emulation is inefficient by nature and there's a much better solution: PulseAudio with its native-tcp module. has an “XMPP Compliance Tester”. You need to provide access to an account (I created a test account for this) and they can notify you via email of any changes.

I found it quite helpful in improving my Prosody configuration.

Last night I've published the first version of flatkvm, a tool to easily run @FlatpakApps isolated with QEMU/KVM.

Still an alpha, but the basic functionality is already there.

Still an early prototype, but this is flatkvm, a tool to easily run fully isolated with QEMU/KVM. This is what I've been doing when I should've been sleeping 😜

At the end of last year I received my Librem 5 devkit from @Purism, this week I'll play with it and toot about it. For the moment, here are photos of the devkit and what it came with, sizes are in centimeters and impressise because of perspective.

#Librem5 #DevKit

#PavelDurov the founder of #vkontakte and #telegram is lying about their software.

Pavel states that telegram is opensource, while it's actually *not*.

It's such an open and shameless lie, that one should ask, where else does he lie to me?

''In 2005, Pavel completed his training at the Faculty of Military Studies of St. Petersburg State University with a specialization in Propaganda and Psychological Warfare. While training with the Faculty of Military Studies, he served as Platoon Commander of the Philology Department. Upon completion, he was awarded the title of Lieutenant of the Reserve Force. Immediately after graduating in 2006, Pavel created the social network''

The Bitcoin and Ethereum mining networks combined consume (waste?) more energy than Greece.

Amazing talk about SiliVaccine, a North Korean (fishy) antivirus based on illegally obtained Trend Micro software code.

The nice folks behind (IMHO, the best IM service/client for Android) have released Quciksy, a variant which synchronizes contacts using your phone number (like WhatsApp).

If you have a few minutes to spare, take a look at it:

Reading AWS Firecracker's sources. I have to say this is the finest piece of Rust code I've seen so far.

I wonder how its virtio-blk implementation performs. I'll try to run some fio tests on it (probably not today).
