I accidentally made myself a new phone background. The flats on the piece I am working on just looked really nice.
Potential Spoilers for “The Casebook of Esho St. Claire” by @ScottRoche@wandering.shop Show more
I just got back from an alternate, magical, turn-of-the-last century NYC. This bustling melting pot of mortals & creatures of legend from different cultures is lively enough to keep one particular occult detective very busy. One week he takes on some “Elder God” types; another week it’s mad scientists. I hope Mr. St. Claire decides to share more of his cases, ‘cause I can’t wait to see what Esho runs into next.
We played celebrity D&D. We had John Hurt (fighter), Pious Morgan (neutral evil cleric), and Oprah Windfury (sorcerer). I played D'wain "The Earth Elementalist" Johnson (goliath monk).
We fought Actual Cannibal Shia LaBouef, and I beat him because I can do jujitsu.
Heads up, #Dallas #RPG enthusiasts: The lovely folks at Common Ground Games (http://boardgamesdallas.com) are celebrating their 5th #anniversary on Saturday, April 28. That also happens to be International Tabletop Day (https://www.tabletopday.com). I anticipate much nerdy fun ... and perhaps a taco buffet. ;)
Is it me, or has every subsequent trailer for “#Avengers: Infinity War” become more and more Wakandan?
It’s almost as if #Marvel Studios is telling everyone who helped “Black Panther” break all sorts of movie records, “Hey nerds! Come see T’Challa, Nakia, and Okoye kick butt —again! Come see Shuri get her #STEM on —even more! Come see M’Baku ... um ... flex ... um ... everything!”
If this film ends up being a kinda-sorta “Black Panther 2”, I’ll be good with that.
Guess who’s coming to Zeus Comics (https://www.zeuscomics.com) for Free Comic Book Day On May 5th?

Lilah Sturges: House of Mystery, Thor: Worthy Origins
Chad Thomas: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Wars Adventures
Ken Lowery: The Night Driver, When the Devil Drives, Like A Virus
If you go, support Zeus, support these comic creators, and buy something.
So apparently, while floating on a cloud of flu medications this weekend, I finally released another title for Ten Thousand Worlds. Behold, an excerpt from "Wakyambi":
"A warrior who attains vita ngoma ya akili (battle dance mind) is aware of the flow of an entire battle at the same time she notices one minute flaw in an opponent’s defenses, and can anticipate attacks split seconds before they hit."

What I enjoyed about this audiobook:
1) It was fun watching our hero Atticus deftly walk a tightrope between modern concerns (lawyers, cops, nosy neighbors) and ancient ones (proper etiquette for hosting deadly-powerful beings with Iron Age morals).
2) From an #RPG point of view, the well-described world hints at lots of interesting magic systems.
3) You just gotta love guy who’ll do anything for his dog. :)
My pre-order of “Taste of Wrath” by @MattFnWallace arrived the other day. It’s the 7th & final(?) course in his Sin Du Jour series, the dessert to his sumptuous banquet, & I just dropped everything to devour it.
I have no idea how to describe this rowdy, genre-blending series except to use phrases like “catering is hell —literally”, “zombie clowns”, & “killer bunny”. It was horrifying & hilarious by turns; and always wonderfully, wonderfully weird.
Bravo, sir, bravo. #SinDuJour
