Went for an interview as a voluntary "Creative Carer" this morning which involves leading older folk in song, accompanied by my ukulele.

There are also some paid carer positions there which I might look into.

Hello fediverse! lib.reviews/ is a free/open/nonprofit alternative to proprietary review sites like #Goodreads, #Yelp, #IMDB.

It plugs into #opendata sources: #Wikidata, #OpenLibrary and #OpenStreetMap (OSM integration is very basic at this point). Still a long way to go but we have a small community and lots of reviews already. On GitHub at: github.com/eloquence/lib.revie - IRC: #lib.reviews on irc.freenode.net - Matrix: matrix.to/#/#lib.reviews:matri

I've just followed some more musicians, thanks to @luka 's recommendations to someone else. It's good.

But as a choral composer, the thing I most need is words to set.

Who is your favourite poet on Mastodon? #poetry #smallpoems

Any recommendations for a low / mid-budget , mainly for "professional" $kype calls, but possibly for gaming?

Love this userscript that adds a link to equivalent Amazon UK page on Amazon USA product pages. Supports other countries too. greasyfork.org/en/scripts/3863

So rosso, what happened.

Thought Police felt your collar?

Not really.

I was building/installing a rather nice HP EliteBook, that I'd snagged from the chuck out pile at base, (and yes, you can still activate Win 10 with Win 7 keys it turns out) and at the same time asking my on-line oracle a few pertinent questions about the meaning of artificial existence.

It turns out this is frowned upon in some places.

A revelation to me as I assumed the pursuit of 'truth,' was to all of our benefit.

@mattcropp @tbeckett

As someone with no FB account, the assumptions of social death often leave me a bit bemused.

I made an early fairly private choice that I didn't like the nature of FB. It wasn't a particularly technical or privacy related choice, but a kind of hunch-y ethical one. Something about the way MZ talked about it alerted me to something.

Absolutely nothing bad has happened to me as a result. I'm socially connected and totally OK.

It's a little harder for it to get noticed now but for any new folks looking for something going on around Mastodon (or at least mastodon.social), I've written a bot that collects #hashtag s and forms #trends when one appears.

It comes in two flavours:

The 1st one is a 'quiet' #bot meaning you have to follow it before you see it's hourly reports. The other one spams local, but is hosted on a different instance.

Ok, so I've been busy busy busy fot the last couple of weeks and havent had the time to throw any of my own stuff, but here's a pic of my latest kiln load - before and after the firing!

I'm feeling it's perhaps time to shelve the Electronica somewhat, and start singing The Blues again.

Introducing Bruce London, he is about to witness an act which will forever change him as his neighbor calmly applies nutella to his ham sandwich... in The Twilight Zone.
