Wish gaming motherboards had SFP+ slots instead of those stupid 10GBASE-T sockets.

Paradoxically, at 10G, fiber is cheaper.

@wolf480pl for a home computer, probably not, maybe a shared port with both interfaces?

@pony have you seen a 10GBASE-T ethernet switch?

I've seen one. It was on the internet, it had a gaming branding, and was ridiculously expensive.

And there's hardly any second-hand market for 10GBASE-T yet, it's too recent tech.

Meanwhile, many old 1Gbit switches have 2 or 4 SFP+ ports.

So 10GBASE-T only makes sense if you're connecting 2 computers back-to-back.
