I rented this Aiways U5. It's a Chinese electric vehicle... until now I didn't even know it existed.
The motor is snappy and the range is good, but the software is absolutely atrocious.
Instead of Android Auto, you're supposed to install a wonky app that does a screen capture of Google Maps running on the phone, and you're supposed to keep her phone horizontal to get the correct aspect ratio 
@codewiz before Android Auto and Carplay came along, I always thought it'd be nice to just have a display your device could drive instead of the typically terrible infotainment system. Though this sounds like a pretty terrible implementation.
