Just discovered CryptPad via the FLOSS Weekly podcast. Basically, Google docs without privacy concerns.
CryptPad in their own words:
"CryptPad is a private-by-design alternative to popular office tools and cloud services. All the content stored on CryptPad is encrypted before being sent, which means nobody can access your data unless you give them the keys (not even us)."
It's also Free software.
Better still CryptPad is on the Fediverse:
CryptPad provide a hosted service that is fully featured, but restricted to 50MB storage. If you want more storage they have paid for subscription plans.
However, as it is Free software you can host it yourself:
You can hear all about CryptPad on the FLOSS Weekly podcast:
The lead developer is also on the Fediverse:
Disclaimer: I've had a play with CryptPad, but not used it for real in a collaborative session.
@cryptpad do you have a place we can keep filing bug reports I'll happily do it on the regular. Github doesn't always work for this (as I don't have the allocation of energy to keep double checking issues known issues)
We've been using cryptpad quite extensively for #Florence lately, so we've encountered a few issues.
@cryptpad Thank you kindly
You can also let us worry about duplicates. If it looks the same add to the same issue. If it looks different, make another one.
@cryptpad thank you. I just know a lot of repos are like "I've checked that this isn't a duplicate", and it can actually be quite exhausting. 😴
I tend to prefer we take anything and sort later. Don't necessarily expect a response though, but it's important to check what comes up multiple time and try to find what exactly can create the situation (it can be related to mixed browsers or to specific content so real time collaboration issues are complicated to identify). @ansuz might differ on the duplicates.
@ldubost That's a really good way to look at it.
So again, thank you <3
